Previous to working for Applied Medical, Ryan Darling studied at Laguna College of Art and Design, where he earned a B.F.A in Illustration. During his time there, Ryan found a special passion for art in a digital medium. Coming from a deep-rooted background in illustration, Ryan bridges his foundational skill and executes it in an ever-evolving medium. His exposure and understanding for illustration truly heightens his awareness in 3D work. Currently with Applied Medical, his work is focused primarily on 3D animation. Since joining the company in 2003, Ryan developed quickly within Applied’s Marketing Division. His work is presented daily in over 40 countries. His main responsibility is to oversee and implementing modeling, texturing, lighting, animation, and compositing bringing forth ideas that brand corporate flagship products.

Ryan Darling’s personal ambition is to take his career into cinematic development. His interest in 3D and his expertise with programs like ZBrush4r6, Maya, After Effects, and Adobe Photoshop has allowed for tremendous depth, exposure, and growth.
